This way of recording is not recommended to professional videos or recordings.
What you'll need:
1- A computer
2- A camera.
3- A mic.
4- An P10/P2 adapter like the following picture:
5- A Headphone ( I recommend "Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones" ).
6- Any music Player.
7- A recording software ( The most simple and easy to use is Audacity )
8- A video editing software ( You can use Vegas, but you have only 30 days of TRIAL, so you can also use Movie Maker )
How to do:
1- First, position your mic in the top of the drum, like an Overhead:
2- Plug the mic with the adapter in the "mic input", on the computer.
3- Open Audacity and make a record of anything in order to check if the mic is working.
4- Now, position your camera, turn on your music player, and record.
5- Save the recording in MP3, and open Vegas.
6- Import your recordings ( of Audacity and of your camera ), and the original music of your cover.
7- Drag the files to the cliboard like the following picture, and after puting the files on the clipboard, remove the audio of the video ( highlighted in red )
8- Now, you'll synchronize the tracks. Using the first beat of the music, synchronize your recording with the original music dragging the tracks in the clipboard. Then, do the same thing, but now, with the video.
9- Save your project, and then, render ( "File> Render As..." ), choose the format, the name of the file and the directory that the video will stay. Click on render.
10- All right, now just upload on YouTube.
